Renumeration

Your Compensation

Remuneration rates congregate around the Australian minimum wage payment requirements ranging between AUD$35,000 to around AUD$70,000 (per year). These variances are broad as they depend on a multitude of factors including but not limited to:

  • Inclusions of additional forms of compensation such as accommodation, meals, etc
  • The host company your internship is with / work terms & conditions
  • How many hours you work / what times of the day you work
  • Your level of experience / your performance, etc

Below is a list of condition ranges that are common among remuneration rates and packages from host companies:

  • Renumeration starting from around AUD$17 per hour; and is sometimes adjusted if packaged to include accommodation, meals, etc
  • Working hours range from 38-60 hours per week, 1-3 days off per week
  • Transport allowance, air tickets, etc., are typically not provided, however this depends on the host company

Some hotels that participate in this program as host company partners provide candidates with accommodation as part of their renumeration package. In these cases, a candidate’s hourly rate of renumeration is sometimes ambiguous to calculate as rent per week is a fixed renumeration point, while the hours a candidate worked may have varied. In any case, however, all host companies are required to abide by Australia’s minimum wage requirements, so the inclusion of accommodation in a renumeration package can generally be considered a positive thing.

Depending on the structure of your contract with your host company, you may have 9% of your earnings deposited to your superannuation account (retirement fund) by your host company on your behalf to help you save and invest for your future.

Once received, AIPP will assess your documents in accordance with the visa eligibility criteria and email you a report advising you of the outcome.

Successful Candidates:

Successful candidates will be advised by email of the outcome of their interview, and advised they may proceed to Stage 3: Admission

Failed Candidates:

Candidates who fail this stage of the program will not be required to pay any further program fee payments, and will not be eligible for a refund of the program fees provided to conduct the Detailed Application Review.

AIPP believes in providing a premium quality service. As such, all enrolments are customised to the individual’s needs and preferred start dates. For this reason, AIPP does not force customers to enrol in fixed intake start dates. You are completely free to choose when to enrol.

There is no maximum as to how early in advance of your placement you should enrol into this program. In fact, the earlier you enrol before you want to start your internship, the more time you are providing AIPP to reserve upcoming internship opportunities for you at our many host company partners, to better match positions with your interests.

Why does AIPP only allow candidates to use this visa for 3 months?

If you apply for your Temporary Activity Visa (408) to span for greater than 3 months, then you must be sponsored and nominated by an approved temporary activities sponsor or sponsor who passes the sponsorship test. Including a professional Migration Agent’s service fees, organising sponsorship and nomination of a Temporary Activity Visa (408) generates over AUD$4,000 in additional costs involved in providing this program, which would make the pricing of this program impractical. Therefore, due to the visa’s limitations, the duration of this program is limited to a maximum of 3 months.

Candidates wishing to enrol into a paid hospitality / restaurant environment internship with visa sponsorship program for longer than 6 months are encouraged to see our alternate program: AIPP’s Paid Professional Internship with Training Visa (407) Program

Why does AIPP only allow candidates to apply for the Temporary Activity Visa (408) from outside of Australia?

If you apply for the Temporary Activity Visa (408) in Australia, you must be sponsored and nominated by an approved temporary activities sponsor or sponsor who passes the sponsorship test.

Including a professional Migration Agent’s service fees, organising sponsorship and nomination of a Temporary Activity Visa (408) generates over AUD$4,000 in additional costs involved in providing this program, which would make the pricing of this program impractical. Therefore, due to the visa’s limitations, candidates can only apply for the Temporary Activity Visa (408) from outside of Australia.
