FAQ

IS YOUR ORGANISATION IN A POSITION TO PLACE INTERNS AUSTRALIA-WIDE?

Yes, all locations. Organising internship placements is our business as we have done it before and can do it again. In addition, we will set aside a surplus of placement opportunities for your candidates to ensure we can meet your desired volume that we agree to take on.

ARE THE INTERNSHIPS PAID?

Professional internships like Accounting, Engineering, IT are unpaid. Hotel and Restaurant internships are the ones that are paid.

WHERE CAN WE ACCESS YOUR PROGRAM'S CONTRACT PAGE?

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE AGENT COMMISSION SCHEME?

Agent partner gets 25% commission from every successful candidate. That means if you send us a student on a $ 1500- program, you get 25% off on that person. We will give you the full commission after a customer has started their internship placement. We cannot give you the commission before they start, because our policy is to provide the customer a refund if we are unable to organise their placement, and a refund will not be possible if the commission has already been paid. Please note that the rate of our failure to organise placements is very low (about 3%), so it is not a major concern. However due to the possibility of a refund requirement, a commission is only paid once the customer’s placement has started. To be clear, you do not need to wait until the end of their program to receive the commission. We pay it once they start their program.

Separately, if a customer enrols but then changes their mind, deciding to discontinue, we do not refund. In this case, whatever fee has been collected from the customer will be shared with the agent (you) at the same rate of the commission (eg if we have received a $500 deposit to start a $1,800 program and the customer quits after only paying the $500, you would receive 25% of the amount received, therefore 25% of $500 ($125). This commission would be sent as soon as it is clear the customer has quit.

WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS FOR SUBMITTING INFORMATION ON A STUDENT, INCLUDING LOCATION AND REQUEST FOR A CERTAIN AREA OF INTERNSHIP?

We will ask the candidates for information via a variation of the Professional Internship Program form and our resume template which will be emailed to the candidates once they have enrolled (which is made available for your reference here).

In addition, we will record notes based on the consultation with the candidate from the consultation we hold, their one-to-one interview practice sessions, and their DISC profile result.

All of this information gets fed into our system and then gets worked on by our respective teams.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A STUDENT IS UNSUCCESSFUL IN PLACEMENT FOR AN INTERNSHIP?

Our process is to organise interviews with up to 3 different companies in the event that the candidate fails the 1st and 2nd interview. In the event of all interviews being failed, contractually AIPP reserves the right to organise no additional interviews for the candidate and to not provide a placement. This condition exists as a safeguard to limit the damage candidates may inflict on our relationships with our host company partners (through sabotaging interviews with poor conduct such as showing up late to interviews, being rude, etc.)

Incidentally, if it is found that the candidate is not failing the interviews due to poor conduct (i.e., the outcome was in no way the candidate’s fault), AIPP would likely organise additional interviews with alternative companies/positions as it is our aim to provide every candidate with a happy and successful placement.

WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT DOES AIPP PROVIDE TO CANDIDATES WHO ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM?

All candidates receive ongoing support from our dedicated team case managers so that the candidates have a single contact person who is aware of their case at all times. In addition to this, the candidates are followed up with usually on a weekly basis (depending on the duration of their program as some of our candidates do 6 month placements or more). Contact is usually via phone as this actually provides a richer source of feedback, however there are also evaluation forms our candidates are sent periodically as it is also helpful to get feedback in writing.

WHAT SUPPORT ARE YOU ABLE TO PROVIDE TO YOUR AGENT PARTNERS?

We will provide you with a user account to our online system where you can see the placement status at every stage of our process for every candidate, and receive automated email notifications (if desired) upon the completion of specific stages (eg candidate placements, follow ups, etc). The system will look something like this (depending on what view access is granted) In addition or alternatively we could provide and maintain a simpler record of customer’s progression via a google sheet such as this one here if desired.

WHAT IF A CUSTOMER ENROLLS IN THE PROGRAM THEN LATER DISCOVERS THAT IT IS NOT WHAT HE REQUESTED (LIKE TASKS ARE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I SPECIFIED, FOR EXAMPLE), CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY INTERNSHIP?

If we fail to provide what you requested, we try first to find a new internship for you, if we are not able to find what you requested, then we provide a refund.

IS IT A GUARANTEE THAT THE CUSTOMER GETS HIRED BY THE HOST COMPANY AFTER THE INTERNSHIP?

It is not guaranteed that you get hired after you finish, but in most cases companies search for employees from their interns. Being an intern with the host company gives you the chance to show your knowledge and skills to the company during the entire period. You are more likely to get a good feedback than a normal job interview.

WHAT IF THE CUSTOMER FINDS A JOB WHILE ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM OR CHANGED HIS MIND, DOES HE GET A REFUND?

Unfortunately he won’t qualify for a refund in this case. Please note that all our host companies wants to hire from after the internship.

WILL A CUSTOMER GET A REFUND IF HE LEAVES THE HOST COMPANY AFTER BEING PLACED?

For reasons out of agreement, personal reasons and racism, we don’t give a refund.

WHAT IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE HOST COMPANY, CAN THE CUSTOMER GET SUPPORT FROM AIPP TO CHANGE TO ANOTHER COMPANY FOR A NEW INTERNSHIP?

AIPP will follow up with the company asking for feedback about the customer. In case of any misunderstanding between the company and the customer, we try to solve it in a manner that favors both sides. The customer is welcome to contact AIPP at any time to discuss anything related to this matter.

WILL THE CUSTOMER RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE FROM THE HOST COMPANY AND AIPP?

Most companies can provide certificates. AIPP also provides certificates when requested.

DO YOU HAVE A LIST OF INTERNSHIP POSITIONS? BOTH HOSPITALITY AND PROFESSIONAL?

CAN YOU ELABORATE ON TAXATION & SUPERANNUATION?

The payable tax rate is dependent on how much they earn THAT PAY PERIOD. Tax rates are calculated based on what the annual income would be, based on what the pay is from the pay period in question. For example, if they work 2 weeks and get $1, the tax office would think they are getting $26 per year ($1 per fortnight). If they are getting 2000 for 2 weeks, the tax office would assume they would get 52,000 per year.

Regarding superannuation, the employer pays a bonus 9% of their standard salary to a separate account called their “superannuation account”. If they want, they can get less pay from the employer, and have that money go to their superannuation account. If they do that, they will pay less tax on their pay but they will not be able to access their superannuation (retirement funds) until they are 65 years old.

CAN A CUSTOMER CHOOSE THE HOST COMPANY HE WILL GO FOR? THE TERMS AND CONDITION SAYS “YOU MUST ACCEPT IT REGARDLESS OF SIZE AND LOCATION”. I THOUGHT CUSTOMERS CAN HAVE THEIR OWN PREFERENCES?

As much as possible, we try to match your preferences. However, if the host companies that match your preferences reject your application, rather than giving you no internship, we will prioritise organising an internship that matches your preferences as closely as possible.

If the host company is not to the customer’s liking, we only organise an alternate placement if:

  • The placement comes to an end prematurely of the duration agreed to in the enrolment form at no fault of the customer, or\
  • The placement we have organised does not match the conditions the customer has agreed to as per the enrolment form / terms and conditions.
It is not feasible for us to change a customer’s placement each time the customer feels like they want to try something different. This structure does not work. The customer needs to specify the conditions they will accept and commit to in their enrolment form. Once we have those conditions, we can then market the candidate to the host company partners. Then the host company partners decide whether they will accept the candidate or not. If a host company fits the required conditions as specified in the enrolment form, the customer is obligated to accept that placement.
We make sure that before we introduce a candidate to a host company partner, we check that the host company partner can meet the required conditions the customer specified in their enrolment form.

HOW LONG WILL BE THE PROCESS FOR YOU TO GET A GUARANTEED PLACEMENT FOR US?

There are some online interview and job readiness training components that you need to complete as part of our program. This can be completed within 1 week quite easily if you are motivated. Once that stage is complete, we move on to organising interviews for you with our host company partners. This stage can take anywhere from 1 day to 3 or 4 weeks.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO PROCESS THE VISA?

VISA processing part will take about 3-5 months.

CAN I KNOW MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM’S REGULAR PROCESS FLOW?

REGARDING HOSPITALITY PROGRAM, IT IS SAID THAT PARTICIPANTS NEED TO HAVE 6 MONTHS WORK EXPERIENCE. DOES THIS MEAN THEY NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE RELATED TO HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY OR WOULD WORKING IN ANY FIELD PRIOR FOR 6 MONTHS SUFFICE?

Related work experience is needed like working previously in a hotel.

WHAT IS THE TIME FRAME OF AGENT COMMISSION DELIVERY?

The respective Commission / Referral Fees that have become payable will be payable in full on the first business day of the following month upon receipt of The Agent’s tax invoice emailed to Payables@AIPPtraining.com.au to The Agent’s nominated account / financial institution in Australian dollars (AUD).

HOW IS THE AGENT COMMISSION CALCULATED?

The Agent’s Commission Rate / Referral Fee Rate payable is calculated as a percentage of each of The Agent’s Customer’s respective total Program Fees as defined by our program fees web page.

In all cases, the total Commission / Referral Fees payable will be relative to the funds received by AIPP to date from the respective Customer.

WHAT IS THE AGENT SALE ENROLMENT PROCESS?

The Agent must:

Ensure the Customer enrols via one of AIPP’s electronic enrolment forms, and Be nominated by the Customer as the referring Agent in the respective enrolment form, and

Forward all program fees collected from the Customer to AIPP, and

Ensure Customer pays the applicable program fee deposit, and Allow AIPP to provide the Customer with an invoice issued by AIPP

WHAT ARE OTHER ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR PAYABLE COMMISSION?

The Agent’s Commission / Referral Fee is recognised as payable if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

The Customer has commenced their Internship Placement.

The Customer has quit/left/discontinued their respective Program.

The Customer has met their respective Program’s “Retired Customer” policy.

DO WE, AS AGENTS HAVE THE FREEDOM TO SET THE FEES FOR THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?

Yes, but the AIPP invoice will not show that extra amount you added. In this regard, agents have two options:

  1. You invoice the customer, and AIPP sends you an invoice.
  1. We invoice the customer and you also invoice the customer for your extra bit.

Most of our agent partners choose option 1.
